Bunny Bait
Happy Easter! I do realize it would have been much more useful to post this recipe long before Easter, but I’ve been too busy slaving away in the kitchen. The good news is this doesn’t have to be just an Easter recipe. It’s good for spring too…or if you switch up the M&M colors and call it something different, you can use it for any holiday. Easy as that.
Ingredients
(These are totally eyeballed - it really just depends how much you want to make and how much you eat while making it…)
3/4 bag lightly salted store bought popcorn - or 1 bag microwave popcorn
1/4 bag broken pretzel sticks (I use Snyder's)
1/2 bag Easter M&M’s
2 cups white chocolate meltaways (I love this brand, but Wilton works too)
Rainbow non pareil sprinkles
Instructions
Double boil* your chocolate. Once melted, remove from heat.
In a large bowl, add the popcorn, broken pretzels, and M&M’s.
Pour the cooled chocolate over the mixture and stir well, adding the sprinkles as you do.
Transfer the mixture to wax paper-lined cookie sheets and allow to harden. (Sometimes I add more sprinkles on top)
Break apart the Bunny Bait and store in air tight containers or zip lock bags.
Enjoy! It’s addicting so don’t say I didn’t warn you. :-)
*Just boil 1 inch of water in pot, shut off heat, then put glass bowl of chocolate on top of it - not touching the water. It will heat the chocolate without burning it. Stir as needed.
